Nourishment for the soul
For a Financially Balanced Lifestyle!

My 5-step strategy when shopping at the hypermarket
Spatial resources: hypermarket (random example — LIDL). Time, material, and financial resources — all well planned for efficient shopping.
Step 1: I use technology
I download the supermarket app or consult the printed catalogue to find out the week's offers. I know in advance which products are on sale and plan my shopping list accordingly.
Step 2: Needs vs. wants
I am human, I need food (needs), and I have culinary curiosities and cravings (wants). I make a clear list that separates what I truly need from what I simply desire in that moment.
Step 3: I allocate a budget for weekly shopping
85–90% of my food shopping is done once a week with a pre-set budget. This discipline helps me avoid impulsive spending and maintain the household's financial balance.
Step 4: I am efficient at the supermarket
I review my list before placing items in the trolley. I set realistic quantities and avoid buying in excess. A discounted product is not necessarily a saving if I won't use it.
Step 5: I scan the app at the checkout
At the end of my shopping, I scan the app or provide my phone number to collect loyalty points and receive additional discounts.
I encourage you to run your purchases through the filter of selective choices, to tell the difference between needs and wants, and to watch out for offers and sale products. A financially balanced lifestyle is built step by step, with patience and consistency.
